Mariah Carey Confirms Brandy Feature On ‘The Roof’ Remake
Mariah Carey has confirmed that she will be teaming up with Brandy on the remake of her 1997 hit single The Roof.
speaking in an Instagram live video yesterday, the singer wore a rose gold gown as she soaked in a jacuzzi celebrating two important career milestones.
‘Hello, darlings! Hello, darlings!’ she said while splashing water in the luxury hot tub.
Captioning her repost of the live, she wrote ‘IG Live!!!! Celebrating The Emancipation of Mimi and Big Energy Remix with the lambily!!!’

As she sat perched in the tub, Carey asked her fans to their favourite tracks off her 2005 album The Emancipation of MiMi.
Earlier in the day, she shared the project’s cover and wrote, ‘Happy Anniversary’ Mimi’! Thank you to everyone who supported “The Emancipation Of…!”
‘It’s “a cause for celebration”!!!’ she said, while also referencing a lyric off the album’s lead single, It’s Like That.
She continued, ‘Join me on IG live in a few minutes!!’
Mariah Carey also talked music, referencing her new feature on Latto’s Big Money Remix, which was released a week.
Speaking on her collab with Brandy, she said, “Can we talk about The Roof with Brandy, one of my favourite songs that I have ever written.”
Gushing over Brandy, she said, “one of my favourite female artists and friends, she is incredible; we love her, and we have a total moment on masterclass in like two days.”
The Emancipation of Mimi, Mariah Carey’s tenth studio album, turned 17 yesterday since its release on April 12 2005. The popular R&B album featured hit singles like Shake It Off, It’s Like That, Don’t Forget About Us, and We Belong Together.
Considered to be Carey’s comeback album that cemented her place in R&B, the album also snagged the singer eight nominations at the 48th Grammy Awards and three wins, among them the Best Contemporary R&B Album honour. According to U.K. newspaper The Telegraph, it was also the biggest-selling album of the year worldwide, after amassing an impressive 10 million copies sold.
