Singer and international music export, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, better known as Ayra Starr, and South African disc jockey, record producer, singer, and songwriter, Themba Sekowe known professionally as DJ Maphorisa, will be performing at the 2024 Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND) concert.

Other music stars to perform at the concert include South Africa’s Kabza De Small, Kenyan singer Sofiya Nzau, and Tinariwen, a Tuareg music group from the Sahara region of southern Algeria. Tinariwen are considered pioneers of desert blues, combining traditional Tuareg and African music with Western rock music.

CANEX WKND is a premier event organise by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), showcasing Africa’s vibrant creative and cultural industries. This year’s edition will be held in Algiers, Algeria, from October 16-19, 2024.
