Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has denied allegations of harassment, cyberstalking, and emotional abuse levelled against him by an unnamed woman.

In a statement shared on his Instagram story, the rapper described the claims as “false and deeply distressing,” adding that they were part of a “sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation” against him by certain individuals in the music industry.

“Over the past few days, several false and deeply distressing allegations have been circulated online about me. These claims are not only untrue, they are part of a sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation that I have endured for months,” The statement read.

The statement comes days after a woman, through her lawyer, Taiwo Akinsulie, accused the rapper of blackmail, bullying, and invasion of privacy. According to the woman’s legal team, Blaqbonez allegedly circulated private videos without consent and continued to intimidate her even after repeated warnings. A petition was said to have been filed with the Nigeria Police Force, urging authorities to investigate under the Cybercrimes Act, the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, and the Data Protection Act.

Responding to the allegations, Blaqbonez said he had remained silent for months despite being the target of bullying, physical assaults, and online attacks. “For nearly a year, I have stayed silent and endured repeated bullying, physical assaults, and online attacks, believing that the truth would speak for itself. There comes a point when silence allows falsehoods to spread unchecked. So I am speaking now: I have done nothing wrong,” he wrote.

The rapper explained that the controversy stemmed from a past personal relationship that had “ended respectfully and without conflict,” but which, according to him, had now been entangled with “professional rivalries” in the entertainment industry.

“That private chapter has now become entangled with professional rivalries in the music industry. What began as a personal matter between two adults has been pulled into a broader feud, reshaped and used as ammunition in a campaign to discredit me publicly,” he added.

Blaqbonez stated that he is cooperating with the authorities to clear his name and has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against those spreading falsehoods about him. He maintained that he has nothing to hide and welcomes transparency.

“The accusations being pushed are deliberate fabrications designed to damage my name, my work, and everything I’ve built. They have caused pain to my family, my team, and those who support me,” he said. “I’m cooperating fully with the authorities to ensure that the truth is established once and for all” He added.

The rapper concluded his statement by urging the public not to weaponise false allegations. “The truth will come out, and when it does, I hope this moment reminds everyone that false accusations destroy real lives,” he said.

As of the time of this report, neither the woman nor her legal team has publicly responded to the rapper’s statement.
