Music executive Ubi Franklin has addressed accusations made by singer Spyro, who claimed that Ubi used Davido’s name to negotiate a performance deal without proper compensation.

Spyro, in an interview released on Wednesday, alleged that Ubi convinced him to perform at a birthday event in Ghana, with the promise of payment allegedly linked to Davido.

However, he claimed the payment was never made.

In response, Ubi denied the allegations, stating that they were an attempt to damage his reputation.

During an Instagram Live session, he revealed a separate financial disagreement, stating that Spyro owes him a commission of 10% from a car purchase he assisted in facilitating.

Ubi explained that Spyro had agreed to pay the commission after completing the car payment, which he claimed was finalised in December but has yet to fulfill the agreement.

Additionally, Ubi admitted to withholding $5,000 intended for Spyro, claiming it was to offset the ₦10.5 million he is owed.

Addressing the situation on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Ubi called for the dispute to be resolved and discouraged the use of Davido’s name in such matters.

He wrote, “I won’t let anyone ruin my reputation. Also, stop dragging Davido’s name into your narrative to gain attention. Why would I tell you Davido said something when you have direct access to him? That doesn’t add up.”

Ubi further clarified, “You owe me 10% from the car I helped you secure. You promised to pay me after completing the payment, which you did in December. I’ve been waiting since then. I still have $5,000 of yours, but you owe me ₦10.5 million. When you calculate it, you still owe me ₦2.5 million after deductions.”

The financial dispute has sparked tension between the two, with both parties maintaining their positions on the matter.
