Renowned gospel artiste, Victoria Orenze, has reaffirmed her unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ, while urging Christians to strive to know God and become more like Him.
She said this at a press conference marking the long-anticipated release of her new album, “Jesus Christ”.
The album, recorded in 2019, is the first instalment of a trilogy slated for release over the next seven months.
Orenze explained that the project transcends music, describing it as a powerful expression of her personal faith journey.
She recalled her humble beginnings, marked by poverty and hardship, during which she sold items.
She shared that those experiences left her feeling hopeless until she encountered Jesus Christ.
According to her, it was that relationship with Jesus that gave her hope, identity, and purpose.
When asked how she views her role in ministry, Orenze stressed that credibility and spiritual depth must come before public platforms.
She urged emerging gospel ministers to prioritise knowing Christ over pursuing fame.
She noted that many people today want success without the due process, stating, “Jesus trained His disciples before sending them out. We must follow that example.”
The album Jesus Christ, set to drop on May 30 on all platforms, features 12 tracks, each designed as a bold declaration of faith.
She also identified one of the tracks, ‘I’m Not Mad’, as a personal favourite, an anthem for Christians unashamed of their devotion to Jesus.
“If people can boldly profess what they believe, so can I. I won’t apologise for loving Jesus,” she said.
Orenze also addressed the delay in releasing the album, saying she believed its unveiling now was divinely timed.
She attributed her consistent output to divine inspiration, saying her songs flow from daily conversations with God.
