NewJeans Sets Guinness World Record For Fastest K-Pop Artist to Reach 1 Billion Spotify Streams
The Guinness World Records has officially recognized NewJeans for achieving the fastest cumulative streaming record among K-Pop singers on Spotify.
According to ADOR on May 9 KST, on March 8 KST, NewJeans surpassed the 1 billion streaming milestone on Spotify in just 219 days, breaking the previous record of 409 days held by Jungkook of BTS, who achieved 1 billion streams with three tracks during that period.
Guinness World Records noted that NewJeans achieved this record by accumulating streams from six of their songs, including “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” “Cookie,” “Hurt,” “OMG,” and “Ditto.”
Moreover, “OMG” and “Ditto” were identified as the most frequently streamed tracks among all of NewJeans’ songs. Furthermore, their recent collaboration with Coca-Cola, “Zero,” has also received a significant number of streams.
As of May 7 KST, NewJeans has accumulated a total of 1.4 billion streams on Spotify across seven songs. Five of these songs have surpassed 100 million streams, including “OMG,” “Ditto,” “Hype Boy” with 300 million streams, “Attention” with 200 million streams, and “Cookie” with 100 million streams.
