On social media, support for Nia Long is booming as her longtime partner, Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, finds himself in hot water.
Long and Udoka have been engaged since 2015 and have a 10-year-old kid in common.
As a result, when news broke that Long was in danger of being suspended for having an apparent consensual relationship with a Celtics staff member, many of his followers expressed their outrage.
In reaction to the affair by Ime Udoka,Nina Parker tweeted, “Cheating on Nia Long? End of days has to be upon us. Because ain’t NO WAY.”
In a statement that addresses the outpoir of love and support it reads, “The outpouring love and support from family, friends and the community during this difficult time means so much to me. I ask that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children.”
She is adored, particularly among the Black community, as a result of her roles in enduring movies like “Love Jones” and “Boyz N the Hood.”
On Thursday, the Celtics suspended Udoka for the entire 2022–2023 season.
Addressing the matter, Udoka said in a statement, “I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down.I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”
