Oscars 2025: Full list of winners and nominees
The much anticipated 97th Academy Awards, otherwise known as Oscars, came to a close this year with historical wins.
This year’s theme, community and spirit, honours all the 29 lives that was lost and thousands of homes destroyed to wildfire in the city of Los Angeles, which happened early this year, 2025.

The Academy Awards, which took place in Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, United States of America, started at about 10pm (WAT) with quests and celebrities arriving at the red carpets. The show kicked started at about 1am and lasted till 4am (WAT), March, 3, 2025, with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s opening song Defy Gravity. It saw historical wins that will become great topics in pop culture.
