The Nigeria Police has condemned the actions of one Habeeb Okikiola popularly known Portable in a viral video.

Portable, according to the police, exhibited irrational behavior and hurled insults at officers carrying out their legal duty, an action that is punishable by the laws of Nigeria.

Portable recently went live on Instagram showing when police officers were at his bar at Sango-Ota in Ogun state to arrest him.

In the live video he said, “You dey tell superstar say ‘you are under arrest’. In my office? You are telling me you are under arrest for what? Why why? Did I know you? Petition against me that’s why you come and scattered my bar? You come and everybody is running up and down. Even me…You [are supposed] to call me then I will come to your office or my manager will come. I have manager.”

In trying to get him to cooperate, Portable continued “No, don’t tell me this one I’m doing will not help me. I’m a superstar. I’m a celebrity. Show me your ID cards everybody. Show me your ID card oga….I’m a federal government liability. I work for APC. Akoi Tinubu. We own Nigeria,” he added.

According to national police spokesman, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the action of the singer is likely to cause a breach of peace and incitement of violence against the officers who were detailed to execute a warrant of arrest on him for series of allegations of criminal acts leveled against him.

“The NPF will take all necessary steps to investigate his actions and ensure that he is prosecuted for any criminal activity he may have committed depending on the severity of the offense,” Adejobi said.

“The Police will not condone any unruly act, assault or attack on its officers who are on lawful duty. We need to respect our law enforcement agents who perpetually take the risk of maintaining law and order and fight crimes and criminality in our society.”
