Renowned Nollywood actress, movie producer and girl-child advocate, StephNora Okere, is set to unveil her latest cinematic effort through the executive premiere of the movie, Roberta

Roberta is a gripping tale of resilience, empowerment and redemption produced under her production company, AfroVision Ltd, which is thrilled to unveil the highly anticipated executive premiere of its latest cinematic gem at the Silverbird Cinema Abuja, on February 17.

The exclusive event promises to be a star-studded affair, featuring celebrities, top government officials, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and agencies dedicated to girl-child upliftment. Notable cast members and key industry figures will also grace the occasion.

Directed by Ema Edosio, Roberta unfolds the captivating story of Amaka Nwachukwu, brilliantly portrayed by Somkele Iyalamah, navigating the challenging terrain of life, marked by abuse and exploitation.

The film takes a poignant turn as Amaka encounters the manipulative Jackson Onote, portrayed by Wole Ojo, leading her into a dark world of exploitation under the guise of launching her music career.

In anticipation of the premiere, Okere shares her thoughts: “I grew up in Nigeria in a relatively comfortable home, yet faced challenges in my career and as a student.

“I can imagine the hardships for underprivileged girls, some forced into these situations due to survival instincts.

“My belief is that highlighting these situations and dangers is an effective way to educate everyone on the signs, dangers and potential solutions, especially for the vulnerable young girls who are the major focal point and concern of my NGO, Bigsister Care Foundation.

Roberta s not merely a film; it is a powerful narrative shedding light on societal issues and championing the resilience of women determined to overcome adversity.
