Considering how much money we spend on makeup and beauty products, it’s always difficult to let them go. Most times, we leave these products sitting on our tables for months even after they’ve finished or been damaged. If you can’t stand to see your favorite makeup or beauty product go to waste, then you need to learn a few tricks to revive old beauty products.

5 Ways to Revive Old Beauty Products

Make Tinted Moisturizer With Old Foundation or Powder

If it looks like you’re almost out of your favourite foundation or pressed powder, you can still get some use out of it. If you use liquuid foundation, a decent amount of product can get stuck in the nooks of the bottle. All you have to do is pour a little face moisturizer inside of it and shake the bottle up to get use out of any leftover foundation. If you use powders, the same trick applies, but you’d have to mix the powder and face moisturizer in another separate container.

Revive Pressed Powder With Packaging Tape

When you’ve used your pressed powder for a while, the oils from your skin harden the top layer of the powder. When this happens, all you need to do is press packaging tape against the compact powder to remove the hardened film on top. Your pressed powder will look brand new.

Clean Residue on Your Eye Shadow Palette

Do you absolutely hate it when your eye shadow colours run unto the palette? How about when some pigments get into a different colour? To fix this, pour rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle, spritz the shades that look muddied, and then dab lightly with a cotton ball. This not only restores the true hue of the shades, but also disinfects the shadows.

Melt Broken Lipstick Back Together

I know the pain of lipstick breaking too well. You no longer have to mourn your favourite lipstick when it falls and breaks; you can melt it back together with a lighter. HOW: Hold the flame close enough to melt the broken edges of the stick, but be careful not to burn them. Press the pieces together, and smooth the seam with your finger before it dries.

Clean False Lashes With A Spoolie Brush and Alcohol

You might not have to throw your falsies out after using them. Simply grab a spoolie and some rubbing alcohol and clean all the glue and makeup residue. Spray a little bit of rubbing alcohol on the spoolie and gently run it through the falsies to pull the old glue away without ruining the shape of them. If you still have the lashes box, put them back inside t maintain the shape.
