The contact lens has been in vogue for a while now.

For fear of infection [microbial keratitis] and low vision, a number of people have avoided smart contact lens but is about to change.

A team led by Jang-Ung Park of Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology and Sungkyunkwan University have introduced their smart contact lens and its features are also causing an exciting stir in the lens market.

Not only will it be mild on the eyes, it will use glucose sensors, wireless power transfer circuits, and display pixels to monitor your glucose in real-time. This smart lens function will be activated by tears. Several research studies have indicated that the sugar level of tears is in sync with blood sugar.

Once your glucose level goes up, the LED pixel showing the glucose level will shut off.

This new lens will also be able to monitor body temperature and cholesterol.
