Nigerian singer, Tiwatope Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, and British-Nigerian rugby star, Maro Itoje, were among prominent figures who attended a state dinner hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla in honour of President Bola Tinubu in the United Kingdom.
The dinner, held on Wednesday at Windsor Castle, formed part of Tinubu’s official state visit and brought together top government officials, diplomats, business leaders and cultural figures with Nigerian heritage.
Savage shared moments from the event on her Instagram page on Thursday, describing the invitation as a great honour.

“It is truly a great honor to be invited by Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla To attend the State Banquet at Windsor Castle in honour of The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Bola Tinubu and First Lady Mrs. Tinubu,” she wrote.
She added that the experience also prompted reflection about the country.
“Moments like this comes with reflection. While recognizing that true progress is measured far beyond rooms like this. Witnessing history, while hoping for better realities for everyday Nigerians,” she added.

Itoje also reflected on the significance of the event in a post shared on his Instagram page.
“I had the honour of attending the State Banquet at Windsor Castle last night between the two countries that are deeply close to my heart… the UK and Nigeria.
“It was inspiring to see and hear how the British and Nigerians governments looking forward to navigating a brighter future and relations between the two great countries,” he wrote.

Other notable attendees included writer Ben Okri, Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu and former England footballer Eniola Aluko, among others.
In his remarks, King Charles described the relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom as a “partnership of equals,” noting the deep historical ties and shared values between both nations.
President Tinubu, in his speech, said both countries share a vision of progress based on mutual respect and cooperation.
The event also featured special arrangements in line with Ramadan, including provision for prayers and iftar before the formal dinner.
