Spending a week in Lagos and want to keep the good times rolling? Here’s your cheat sheet to some of the city’s hottest spots, with one tried-and-true hangout for every day of the week, from Monday’s wild parties to Sunday’s soft landings.
Mondays at Obi’s house
The city’s most raved-about Monday turn-up. Every week, Hard Rock Café morphs into Obi’s House: surprise Afrobeats sets, celebrity cameos, and an anything-can-happen dance floor that runs till sunrise. Shake off weekday blues with premium bottles, grilled bites, and the feeling you’ve gate-crashed Lagos’ biggest industry after-party.
Taco Tuesdays
There’s no better day to enjoy Mexican food than Tuesdays. Many restaurants offer Baja-style street food recreated with Nigerian swagger. Build-your-own goat-meat tacos, frozen margaritas, and mariachi-meets-Afrobeats playlists keep them buzzing from 6 PM every Tuesday. Check out Bature Brewery, El Padrino, and La Taverna.
Fired&iced Karaoke on Wednesdays
Plot 28, 77 Admiralty Way, Lekki turns into an open-mic playground mid-week: free entry, projected lyrics, and a live band that doubles as your hype crew. Belt out classics between plates of suya wings and “iced” cocktails. Perfect for group hangouts or post-work stress release.
Pasta and wine Thursdays at La Taverna
Every Thursday at La Taverna until close, a fixed rate for pasta per person includes a glass of wine, sangria, and a bottle of water or juice, and there are 12 different types of pasta available. So it’s a perfect place for you to hang out with your friend, or have meetings, or even, you know, throw a friend’s hangout that wouldn’t break the bank.
Fridays at the library
Tucked in Victoria Island, high-energy luxury lives here. Every week, The Library delivers a premium club experience with live sets from top DJs and artists like Young Jonn, Crayon, Magixx and more. Think: sharp crowds, elevated cocktails, and a dance floor that doesn’t quit. It’s where Lagos comes alive after dark.
Saturday — Nike Art Centre by day, Zorya by night
Spend daylight exploring 20,000 artworks, and do a little adiré shopping at Nike Art Centre, Lekki. After dark, switch gears: Named after the goddess of light, Zorya boasts a 500-guest capacity, so you won’t have to elbow your way to the bar like in other places you’re used to.
Sunday — the deck lounge
Round off the week on Kuramo Waters. The Deck’s laid-back terrace pairs charcoal seafood platters with chill-hop sets and 2-for-1 rum punches. Arrive for golden hour, stay for the moonlit breeze. Then head home to recharge for Monday’s Obi’s House loop.
