Jumping straight into heavy meals can mess with your digestion, cause bloating, or leave you feeling uncomfortable.

If you want to enjoy the celebration without hurting your stomach, here’s how to break your fast the right way:

1. Begin with fresh juice or warm lemon water

Instead of rushing into fried snacks, start with a glass of freshly squeezed juice. You can also try warm water with lemon to wake your digestive system gently. It helps your body ease into food again after hours of fasting.

2. Eat light, not heavy

Avoid loading your plate with mutton korma or greasy biryani first thing. Start with something simple like fruit, salad or a light soup. Your stomach needs a soft landing, not a crash landing.

3. Small portions, more often

Don’t pile everything on one plate just because it’s Eid. Eat in small portions and space your meals throughout the day. This way, your system can keep up without feeling overwhelmed.

4. Don’t go wild on sweets

Yes, it’s tempting to dive into plates of sugary small chops. But too much sugar at once can spike your blood sugar and upset your stomach. Instead of overloading on sweet treats, go for natural options like dates, fresh fruits or even tigernuts to satisfy your cravings more healthily.

5. Avoid junk or processed food

Packaged snacks, sodas, or overly processed foods are a big no. They can trigger bloating, gas and discomfort, not what you want on Eid. Stick to home-cooked meals with a good mix of protein, carbs, fibre and healthy fats.

Enjoy your food. Celebrate hard. But treat your digestive system with care, it just survived a month-long fast.

Your stomach deserves the same love you’re giving your outfits this Eid.
