The 2018 edition of the Big Brother Naija was definitely had its moments. With the total of 170 million votes and the show generating N5.1 billion, it was arguably the most-watched television show in Africa in the last three months. 23-year-old pilot Miracle emerged winner taking home the prize money and, the best yet, a new bae who described him as her “everything”. Like his fans say, #WeDieHere.

Extreme feminism?

Chimamanda Adichie, came under serious backlash for stating that she was ‘upset’ with the former Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s decision to put ‘Wife’ first in her Twitter bio while Bill Clinton did not reciprocate. A lot of Nigerians were displeased and argued that both were feminists who reserved the right to do as they pleased. Adichie replied critics of her statement, sharing that she was indeed upset by the bio because of the many other accomplishments of Clinton.

The historic J.Cole

J.Cole’s newly released album KOD made history on Apple Music and Spotify. The album boasts of 64.5 million streams in Apple Music and 36,656,086 streams in Spotify in 24 hours. This number automatically displaces Drake’s Views on Apple Music. Seven out of the top 10 most streamed songs on Apple Music is from KOD. Whatever J.Cole said, #WeFeltThat.

Season of new births

The royal family was out in a joyous mood when the Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince Williams, Kate Middleton, gave birth to her third child, a boy. The new royalty is fifth in line to the British throne. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on Monday put up a post on Instagram announcing the birth of his third child, Tiara Gia, while dishing out some valuable men advice.

Freedom for Meek Mill

Rapper Meek Mill, who was jailed in November over a case from his teenage years, was ordered out on bail by Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court. This was after his unusually harsh sentence triggered protests that pointed to racial biases in US probation laws. Jay Z among other celebrities expressed excitement over his release.
