
President Bola Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to Fuji veteran, Adewale Ayuba, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a cultural force who has brought joy to Nigerians for over four decades.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, Tinubu said Ayuba’s impact on the Fuji music genre remains unmatched, calling him a “formidable force in our cultural history.”
Part of the statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, felicitates veteran Fuji musician and entertainer Adewale Ayuba on his 60th birthday, March 25.”

The President noted that Ayuba, also known as Mr Johnson, began his career as a Fuji artist at 17 and has since carved a niche for himself as the Bonsue Fuji King.
His 1991 hit album “Bubble” was also mentioned as a turning point in his career, earning multiple awards and topping charts for months.
According to the statement, Since his debut as a Fuji singer at 17, Ayuba has established himself as the Bonsue Fuji King.
“Known affectionately as Mr. Johnson, he has remained a vital presence on the Nigerian social scene. In 1991, his album Bubble garnered numerous awards and topped the music charts for months.”
The President also celebrated Ayuba as a multi-talented performer , a singer, drummer, and actor whose role in mentoring young talent has strengthened the country’s creative industry.
The statement added, “Today, we celebrate an icon whose talent and dedication have brought joy to generations of Nigerians and Africans worldwide. Through his lyrics, Adewale Ayuba has etched his name in gold, standing as a formidable force in our cultural history. His music, rich with wisdom, reflects the vibrancy and resilience of our society.”
