Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has expressed joy following the official confirmation by Guinness World Records that she has set a new world record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style Jollof rice.

Reacting on her verified X handle on Monday, Baci simply wrote, “We have done it again  #nigeria #hildabaci”, celebrating the milestone that once again placed her in the international spotlight.

The record, achieved in collaboration with Gino Nigeria, involved preparing 8,780 kilogrammes of Jollof rice at an event held on September 13, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Guinness World Records confirmed the feat in a post shared on Monday: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”

The cooking event drew thousands of spectators, celebrities, and food lovers, creating a festival-like atmosphere that featured live performances and high-profile appearances.

Baci, who previously set the world record in 2023 for the longest individual cooking marathon, said her goal was to showcase Nigeria’s culinary excellence through another globally recognised achievement.
