Nigerian actor and public figure, Ugo Nwokolo, has said young Nigerians need practical life lessons and not just academic qualifications to navigate life.

Nwokolo said this while unveiling his fast-growing online community on Wednesday, Ugo Nwokolo University, a free digital platform focused on personal growth, critical thinking, confidence building and social awareness.

The initiative, which currently runs mainly on social media and WhatsApp, has attracted thousands of young followers within a short period.

Many of its followers have described it as “a different kind of school.”

Unlike conventional institutions, the platform focuses on real-life conversations around financial growth, relationships, communication, social media influence, self-development and talent discovery.

Speaking during one of the sessions, Nwokolo said the vision was to create a space where young people could “learn, unlearn and relearn.”

“This is beyond certificates. A lot of young Nigerians are struggling with direction,
confidence and self-discovery. The goal is to help people think better and become better versions of themselves,” he said.

The actor, known for his outspoken personality and unconventional style online, appears to be repositioning himself through educational and developmental content targeted at younger Nigerians.

The platform currently offers free access to lectures and discussions on masculinity, personal development, communication, relationships and mindset transformation.

Reactions to the initiative have been mixed on social media.

However, supporters have described it as refreshing, relatable and timely.
