ABOUT 10 persons were feared killed yesterday morning in a road accident by the Benin by-pass along the Warri-Sapele expressway, involving a truck, a Volkswagen car and a 12-seater passengers’ bus.
Eyewitness account said the truck was coming from the Agbor end of the by-pass and trying to avoid another car, veered off its track hit a stationary car before ramming the passenger bus coming from the Sapele road end of the by-pass.
“A car was driving towards the truck and the driver was trying to dodge it and in the process, it ran into the stationery car and then the truck. About four or five died instantly and some others were rushed to the hospital.
Among the dead was a woman, two children, her mother-in-law and a baby strapped to her back.
Other eyewitnesses said the driver of the truck escaped unhurt while security agents rescued him to prevent him being lynched.
