
The call came in the wake of entrenched division among the Kwankwasiyya Group and persons loyal to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, a development, which compelled the Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi II, to raise a similar concern recently.
Besides, the council reminded owners of broadcast stations in the state to be conscious of desperate politicians, who might want to use their media to foment trouble.
In a communiqué jointly signed by the Chairman, Ibrahim Abbas and Secretary, Abba Murtala, yesterday, after its monthly council congress held at NUJ secretariat, the council advised people to be beware of fake news, especially the social media.
The group also called for a state agency to fight the scourge of drug abuse in the state.
