Former governorship aspirant in Kano, Abdulsalam Abdulkareem Zaura, has thrown weight behind the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as presidential candidate of the ruling party for the 2023 general election.

Zaura, a strong associate of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, declared that beyond all hurdles and controversy against the former Lagos state governor, he is prepared to “fight with all strength and last kobo” for Tinubu to be president in 2023.

Zaura, a young business tycoon who recently decamped to the APC, made the declaration and his political ambition known while speaking with journalists in Kano.

Dwelling on the zoning arrangement for APC presidential ticket, the Kano-born Dubai based business mogul did not only supported power shift to the Southwest for fairness, he believed Tinubu remained the only trusted candidate to beat for the job.

“For federal character and fairness I believe power should shift to the south. I will not feel happy if it is otherwise. Now, if it is going to the south then it has to be Bola Tinubu.

“Then I will work, you will see the real fight and the lion in me. You will believe that he send me here because I will fight with all my strength for him to be president; I will fight with all my kobo and dollar for him.”

On what could have motivated the strong support for Tinubu, Zaura said, “People have their different views, they keep digging to know my relationship with Tinubu, I have a personal relationships with Bola Tinubu, and it will not change now.

“He is a father to so many, not only to me because he is somebody who build people. And now that I have come to politics it will not change anything, I will give him the same respect and he will give me same cares.”

Speaking on his political ambition in Kano, the young politician revealed his intention to uplift the social wellbeing of the people with distinctive touch on economic and investment attraction. He stressed the will to adopt technological advancement in human and societal development.

Reacting to speculation on governorship aspiration come 2023, Zaura, contended that though he was not desperate to be governor of the state, he would be desperate to transform and bring about positive change in the economy, infrastructure and social development of Kano; in line with global best standard.

Cognisance with the number of equal interested candidates eyeing the plum ticket in the ruling party, Zaura maintained that his chance remain the will of God. He, however, declared readiness to abide by the choice of Ganduje and party for 2023 governorship ticket.

According to him, “We are all in the party called APC and the leader is the governor of the state. I am 100 per cent with him, his decisions are my decision and whatever he decides I am pleased with that.

“All I am here for is to help the governor succeed, help the party flourish and dominate any other party in the state. This is my mission and what I have been doing,” Zaura declared.
