2027: Tinubu doesn’t need institutional aid to win polls, says Ondo APC

President Bola Tinubu

• Tackles ADC over favouritism claim in INEC timetable
• Says electoral body’s revised schedule realistic, fair to all parties
• Insists Nigerians will vote based on reforms, not ‘conspiracy narratives’
• Ekiti 2026: My campaign will be decent, issue-based, says Oyebanji
• Urges other candidates to do same

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ondo State chapter, at the weekend, dismissed allegations of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that the revised 2027 election timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was designed to favour President Bola Tinubu.
The ruling party, while describing the opposition party’s claim as speculative, emphasised that Tinubu does not require institutional manipulation to secure an electoral victory in 2027.

According to the party, through its Director of Media and Publicity in the state, Steve Otaloro, governance performance remains the ultimate determinant in any democracy.

Besides, the party, while expressing confidence in the new election timetable, described it as realistic, structured, and fair to all political parties, adding that it reflects administrative foresight and institutional balance.

Otaloro maintained that the timelines were released well in advance of the 2027 election cycle, stressing that they provided sufficient opportunity and time for all serious political parties to comply with regulatory requirements.

He further stressed that factors, such as optimisation of revenue under the current administration, energy sector recalibration, macroeconomic restructuring, and institutional reforms, were substantive achievements that would influence the decision of voters.

MEANWHILE, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has assured residents of the state that he would abide by the provisions of the Electoral Act, by campaigning within the ambit of order and electoral decency, even as he called on candidates of other political parties to do the same.

Oyebanji, who stated this at the weekend during the monthly evening of praise and worship programme at Jibowu Hall, Government House, stressed the importance of peace during the coming election, urging politicians to shun violence and campaign of calumny that are capable of disrupting the peace of the state.

The governor, in a short address to the congregation, also prayed for the success of the President Tinubu-led administration, as well as his reelection in 2027.
