
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the death of an 80-year-old trader, identified as Ladan Bature, who was fatally stabbed during an argument at the Kara Cattle Market along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola disclosed that the deceased was stabbed with a knife in front of the Kara Market mosque by one Haiye Aginni on Monday.
Odutola stated that despite efforts by residents and traders to rush him to the hospital, Bature succumbed to his injuries.

She added that following a report to the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division, detectives swiftly took action and arrested the suspect.
According to the police spokesperson, the corpse was deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital morgue in Sagamu for preservation and autopsy.
Odutola further noted that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
