Son of ex-DSS boss denies alleged $2m theft

Abba Bichi, son of former DSS chief Yusuf Bichi, denies online allegations of stealing $2 million. The professional footballer calls the claims false in a podcast from Germany.
Abba Bichi is a former Nigeria junior international.

Abba Bichi, son of former Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, has firmly denied allegations that he stole $2 million from his father and fled the country.

The rumours, which surfaced on an online news portal, accused Abba of absconding with the stolen funds, a claim he has since dismissed as false.

Currently based in Abuja while pursuing football opportunities in Germany, Abba addressed the allegations during a podcast recorded in a stadium in Germany. In the video, which he later shared excerpts of on his social media handles, Abba discussed the false reports while reflecting on his latest football match. Despite losing the game, he shared a heartwarming exchange with his father, who called to offer support.

“In life, you win some and lose some,” Yusuf Bichi could be heard telling his son, encouraging him to stay focused on his career. The conversation also featured Abba’s coach, identified as Mr. Thomas, who mentioned their upcoming match against Bayer Leverkusen. In response, Yusuf Bichi expressed optimism about the future and continued to support his son’s football aspirations.

This false allegation marks the latest in a series of online attacks aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the former DSS chief.

Yusuf Bichi, who served the Department of State Services for over six years with distinction, has been the subject of various fabricated stories. However, these claims have been widely debunked as attempts to damage his public image.
