The Accord Party (AP) in Oyo State has described as disgraceful and unacceptable the call by governors for a Federal Government bail out to pay the backlog of salaries to workers in their states.

In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Public Communication, Dotun Oyelade, the party noted if President Buhari would accede to their demand at all, consideration should be given only to governors who have just assumed duties and not second term governors.

The AP noted that inspite of glaring evidences that salaries could not be paid, some returnee governors were still awarding contracts as it is the only way they can get kick backs.

The party cited the example of the state government that has just announced plans to award contracts to build silos (agricultural products warehouses) in each of the senatorial districts, when existing silos in Ibadan,Saki, Ayete and Iseyin are moribund and empty.
