Accord Party rejects Kebbi’s IPAC election

Kebbi State chapter of Accord Party (AP) has described the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) election conducted last month as a kangaroo exercise that was marred by irregularities.

Addressing journalists yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, its Chairman, Abdullah Muhammad Sani, said the election, was supported by government agents and urged the National Party (NP) and other political parties not to recognise the newly elected executive members.

Sani, who contested the poll, expressed dismay over the support of some national officers for removing his name from the list of contestants on the eve of elections day.

He alleged that they connived with the national body to rig the election, claiming that they were given about N50 million to support the government’s candidate.
