The fifth Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, on Wednesday vowed to enforce zero tolerance for cultism, sexual harassment, and bullying among staff and students.
She made the pledge during her inauguration and welcome service at Crowther Hall, where she was formally presented as the first female Vice Chancellor of the faith-based institution owned by the Anglican Communion.
Prof. Oduwole, who has over 39 years of experience in the Nigerian university system, unveiled a 10-point agenda aimed at making ACU the most sought-after faith-based university in the country.
She stressed that her administration would uphold godly values while raising “godly intellectuals.”
“There will be zero tolerance for cultism, sexual harassment, and bullying under my leadership,” she declared.
Her agenda includes the promotion of innovation through a Research Management and Innovation Office, the creation of a new funding model, and the establishment of professorial chairs across disciplines.
She also pledged to expand ACU ventures and prioritize holistic student development, mentorship, spirituality, and entrepreneurship.
“I will lead by example and foster cooperation among all stakeholders. I will pursue excellence without compromise,” she said, commending the efforts of her predecessors in building the university.
The inauguration was attended by prominent personalities, including Bishop Joseph Akinfenwa, Archbishop Olusina Fape, Prof. Dapo Asaju, and Prof. Idowu Olayinka.
In his sermon, Archbishop Fape urged the new VC to embrace faithfulness and accountability while seeking divine wisdom to succeed.
Former VC Prof. Asaju prayed for her success, while the Chairman of Council and Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Olutoyin Okeowo, presented her with the authority of office and prayed for her administration.
