Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship candidate for Lagos State, Mr. Owolabi Salis, has described the TraderMoni scheme of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as fraud.

Addressing newsmen in Lagos yesterday, Salis said that the only way the APC candidate, Jide Sanwo-Olu, could win the next governorship election is manipulation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He charged the electoral umpire to ensure credible polls across the country while discouraging vote buying and other electoral malpractices.

According to him, if INEC conducts free, fair and credible election, he stands a better chance of defeating the APC candidate.

His words: “It is glaring that the ruling party has not only lost popularity among the electorate in Lagos, the party is also facing a lot of internal crises which culminated in the denial of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode second term ticket on its platform.

“The ruling party has also failed to perform to the expectation of the people since 1999 it took over power. All these put together, it will only take APC to collaborate with INEC to win the next governorship election.

“Our people, including members of the APC, are tired of the excesses of the national leader, Bola Tinubu, who again wants to impose Sanwo-Olu on them like he did in 2007 for Babatunde Fashola and in 2015 for Ambode.”
