The crisis rocking the Adamawa State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could soon record its first casualty. Chieftains of the party have declared that those that boycotted yesterday’s re-election campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari are against the party.

The crisis rocking the Adamawa State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could soon record its first casualty. Chieftains of the party have declared that those that boycotted yesterday’s re-election campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari are against the party.

Adamawa State governor, Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow, was conspicuously absent at the event. Also absent were his political appointees and the outgoing state executives of the APC, all whose tenures expire tomorrow.

The governor’s absence was viewed as a direct political attack on the 2019 ambition of Buhari and an attempt to work against the party’s bid to retain power at the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking at the ceremony, attended by political bigwigs in the state, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal, said those seeking to manipulate the forthcoming APC congress should shelve the idea in their personal interest, as such move would be counter productive.
