Her appointment was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Command said in a statement.

Adebisi replaces Benjamin Hundeyin, who previously held the post. The statement did not provide details on the reassignment of her predecessor.

The new spokesperson studied English Language and Literature at Tai Solarin University of Education in Ogun State, before obtaining a master’s degree in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.

She has held a range of positions in the Nigeria Police Force, including staff officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of operations, and personal assistant to the Commissioner of Police at the Special Protection Unit (SPU).

Until her latest posting, she was Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the SPU headquarters in Abuja.

The Command said Adebisi would work to strengthen communication between the police and residents of Lagos, in line with the inspector-general’s vision.
