Aerospace firm plans MRO facility at Gateway Airport

Dassault Aviation, a prominent name in aerospace innovation, has disclosed plans to establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport in Ilishan Remo, Ogun State.

The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by two senior executives from Dassault Aviation, Florent Venturini, the Sales Director, and Isabelle Villet, the Sales Manager to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The meeting focused on strategic plans for the MRO facility to boost the airport’s operational capabilities and serve the broader West African market.

Abiodun described it as a landmark development that underscores the increasing attractiveness of the Gateway Airport and the surrounding Aerotropolis.

He noted that the MRO facility would enhance aviation operations and solidify Ogun State’s standing as a premier destination for global investment.

 

The governor highlighted the positive business climate fostered by his administration, which is committed to creating an enabling environment for innovative investors.

He pointed out that Ogun State has become a sought-after destination for businesses in Nigeria and globally due to the business-friendly policies and strategic government support for the private sector.

The governor expressed optimism about the long-term economic impact on the region.

According to him, the move is poised to create job opportunities, stimulate local businesses, and enhance the overall infrastructure of Ogun State, making it a pivotal hub for aviation and related industries in West Africa.
