Founder Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Aare Afe Babalola, and Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, were among notable dignitaries that honoured the renowned communication scholar, Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye, yesterday, describing him as a great man, whose legacies are worthy of honour.

Baring his mind at the presentation of issues in the fourth and fifth estates of the realm (Festschrift on Prof. Akinfeleye) at UNILAG, Babalola, who was represented by Chief Gboyega Oyewole, said Akinfeleye “is a kind and respectful man.”

The legal luminary recalled that the don assisted him immensely when he was UNILAG Pro-Chancellor.

Prof. Ogundipe, who was also represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Lucien Chukwu, noted that Akinfeleye had paid his dues, adding that his legacies would be sustained.

On her part, Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said Akinfeleye “is a good teacher that ignites imagination and instils learning.”

Chairman and CEO of Channels TV, John Momoh described him as a teacher of teachers and exceptionally intelligent.

CEO at Troyka Holdings Limited, Biodun Shobanjo, stated that when Akinfeleye told him about building the Biodun Shobanjo Multi-Media Centre of Excellence at the Mass Communication Department, UNILAG, he couldn’t resist.
