African best rugby bouncer of the year award excites ‘big sunny’
Nigeria’s international rugby star, Sunday Bassey, aka Big Sunny, has described his recent award as Africa’s Best Bouncer of the Year as a dream come true.
Such was his enticement after receiving the award on Sunday that Big Sunny told The Guardian that such recognition would inspire other rugby players across the continent to work harder.

Big Sunny, who is the CEO and founder of Big Sunny Unit Security Service Nigeria Limited, also emerged as the Best Protocol Service of the Year at the Mixkid Golden Record International Award Night.
“It’s a big dream come true for me as a Cowrie Rugby Club player and African Best Bouncer of the Year.
“I dedicate this award to almighty God and to all the orphans and widows in Africa. It is God’s grace that made me the African Best Bouncer of the Year and the Best Protocol Service of the Year at the Mixkid Golden Record International Award Night,” he said.
Big Sunny, who said Nigeria could become a great rugby nation if given the right environment to develop, urged the National Sports Commission (NSC) to endorse the sport as one of the counting events in the upcoming Nation Sports Festival.
He said: “I wish rugby will be one of the events of National Sports Festival so that grassroots players will understand the game. Rugby is love, respect and discipline, God bless Nigeria.”
