The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Organization (TSO), Hon. Aminu Suleiman, on Tuesday said the North would support President Bola Tinubu‘s re-election in 2027, arguing that the region has a moral obligation to allow the South complete an uninterrupted eight-year tenure after former President Muhammadu Buhari’s two terms in office.
Suleiman also urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, to abandon his presidential ambition, insisting that principles of equity and fairness favour President Tinubu’s second term.
Speaking with State House correspondents after meeting President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the TSO Director-General said the President’s ongoing reforms and infrastructure projects had strengthened public confidence in the administration and positioned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for victory in the next general election.
According to him, power rotation remains essential to national cohesion, stressing that the North had just concluded eight years under Buhari and should now support the South to complete its own eight-year cycle.
“We cannot be greedy. Muhammadu Buhari was there for eight years, and we were part and parcel of the process that brought him to power. We have finished our eight years in office,” Suleiman said.
“I think those of us from the North-West need to allow Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to complete eight years in office so that Nigeria remains balanced.
“Buhari has done his own eight years. I also want to commend the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of Works for the tremendous work they are doing.
“So, all these people from the North are not going anywhere, especially Atiku Abubakar.”
Suleiman said he visited the Presidential Villa to pay homage to President Tinubu and commend him for what he described as significant achievements recorded within three years in office.
Asked what the President would campaign on ahead of the 2027 election, he pointed to ongoing infrastructure development across the country, particularly road projects in Kebbi State, as evidence that the administration had delivered tangible results.
“You can see the projects that are going on, including the superhighway in my home state of Kebbi. It is one of the biggest projects Mr President is undertaking,” he said.
“I just returned from Kebbi State where I met Governor Nasir Idris. You can also see the level of funds being released to governors.
Many projects have been initiated within three years, and I believe Nigerians should give Mr President the opportunity to continue.”
The TSO Director-General expressed confidence that President Tinubu’s record in office would resonate with voters, maintaining that both the administration’s performance and the principle of equitable power rotation would work in the President’s favour in the 2027 presidential election.
