Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, yesterday, appealed to the media and citizens of Oyo to rally around Governor Seyi Makinde in the coming 2023 governorship election.

He also met with a group of artisans, under the umbrella of Omitutun Coalition Movement, who declared support for Makinde’s re-election.

The commissioner, who dubbed his interactions with the media and artisans: ‘Political Evangelism for Governor Makinde’s Re-election in 2023’, said the administration has done so much to win the support of Oyo citizens and the media.

Speaking in Ibadan at the Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the commissioner said the governor’s records in infrastructure since 1999 were determined by their economic importance to the quality of people’s lives.

He told journalists that efforts by the state government are ongoing to curb kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities at the Onigari axis of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

He said Makinde made a lot of promises during electioneering and set up committees to ensure implementation of the ‘Road Map to Accelerated Development in Oyo State’, which has four branches – Economy, Education, Healthcare and Security.

“It is necessary for the people to support the government in its dream towards the development of Oyo,” Olatubosun added.
