AirPeace denies fire incident
The management of AirPeace Airline has denied the report that its flight from Port Harcourt to Lagos yesterday was returned to base as a result of fire.
Chairman of the airline, Mr. Allen Onyema, told The Guardian on phone that a false fire alarm caused the slide doors and all exit facilities to be deplored while the plane was on ground at the Port Harcourt Airport.
He said that the same plane, which was allegedly on fire, later made the journey back to Lagos. “The pilot only noticed some indicator and after trouble shooting, decided to return to base, as a measure of our concern for safety. How the smoke and fire story came about is a big surprise,” he said.
