• Denies masterminding changes in Assembly’s leadership
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reiterated that his administration is committed to the safety of lives and property of people in the state with the presentation of operational vehicles to security agencies in the state.
Aiyedatiwa, while describing the event as a significant step in the collective quest to build a safer and more secure state, emphasised that the distribution of the operational vehicles was a clear demonstration of his administration’s resolve to enhance the capacity and responsiveness of security formations across the state.
The vehicles were distributed at the Government House in Akure, yesterday, as part of activities marking the governor’s first 100 days in office. The governor said that the event underscored the administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency and capacity of the security agencies to respond to any security alert or act of criminality in the state.
Aiyedatiwa, who stressed the importance of synergy among all security stakeholders, stressed that “the philosophy is embedded in his administration’s development blueprint, tagged ‘Our Ease’, which prioritises the safety of citizens.
On his part, the Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Justin Ifeanyi, who spoke on behalf of all the security agencies in the state, assured that the vehicles would be put to effective use and properly maintained.
Also, the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), Adetunji Adeleye, expressed gratitude to the state government, noting that the vehicles would significantly ease the mobility challenges faced by security personnel.
Meanwhile, Aiyedatiwa has dismissed the insinuation that he masterminded the changes in the leadership of the state’s House of Assembly. The governor said: “Nothing is permanent. Society itself evolves. So, they are doing some readjustment in the House. Basically, their business is not my business.”
“I am on my lane. As long as the House is peaceful, I have no problem, and the business is going fine. Well, done.”
