Aiyedatiwa seeks synergy with federal lawmakers for Ondo's development

Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has stressed the need for a collaborative approach between his administration and federal lawmakers from the state to achieve the desired growth and development.

According to the governor, federal lawmakers should regard the overall development, peace, and stability of the state as a collective responsibility.

Aiyedatiwa made the call while hosting all nine members of the House of Representatives from the state at the Government House in Akure, the state capital.

The Rep members are Abiodun Derin Adesida, Akure South/Akure North; Abiola Makinde, Ondo East/Ondo West; Timehin Adelegbe, Owo/Ose; Gboyega Adefarati, Akoko South West/Akoko South-East; Ife Ehindero, Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West; Festus Akingbaso, Idanre/Ifedore; Festus Adefiranye, Ileoluji-Okeigbo/Odigbo; Donald Ojogo, Ilaje/Ese-Odo and Jimi Odimayo, Okitipupa/Irele.

At the meeting of lawmakers with the governor, which focused on collaborations towards the development and stability of the state, Aiyedatiwa harped on the need to strengthen unity within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state ahead of the party’s congresses.

The discussion also centred on aligning federal and state development goals to ensure that the state continues to benefit from federal projects under the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Tinubu.

According to Aiyedatiwa, his administration will continue to prioritise the development of the state and the welfare of the people over politics, stressing that the collaboration with the lawmakers is a huge win for the state, as it is the kind of synergy needed to keep the momentum of development and stability going for the Sunshine State.

Informing the lawmakers of the activities planned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the state’s creation, he expressed delight that all 12 members of the National Assembly (Senate and Reps) and all 26 members of the State House of Assembly are now in one party, the APC, which he described as an unprecedented development in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers, Derin Adesida appreciated the governor for the meeting and commended the developmental strides of his administration in the state.

Pledging their support and loyalty to the governor, the lawmakers promised to put politics aside and continue to contribute their quotas to the development of the state and the growth of the APC.
