Ajiboye urges Nigerians to return to God
The General Secretary, The Bible Society of Nigeria, Rev. Dare Ajiboye has called on Nigerians to return back to God by obeying His Word. This, according to him, is the solution to the multifaceted challenges facing the nation today.
Delivering his message at the flag-off the 2016 Marathon Bible Reading at The Shepherd Flock International Church, Ikeja, Ajiboye said the purpose of the programme, which took off in 50 different reading centres across Lagos State, was to draw the heart of Nigerians back to God with a view to knowing what He expects from us as individuals and as a nation.
Ajiboye said participants would derive three-fold joy by participating in the programme which include the joy of reading the Bible in their languages, opportunity to help someone else hear the Word of God in a new way and joinining others in continuous reading of the Bible.
According to Ajiboye, the programme being organized by Bible Society of Nigeria of which the former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon is the patron, had continued to attract non-Christians, according to monitoring personnel and reports after each edition.
The Senior Pastor, The Shepherd’s Flock Int’l Church, Rev. Tony Akinyemi called on Federal Government to encourage every state to develop agriculture, adding that this would not only bring favourable competition but also make the nation forget the focus on oil, which has disappointed Nigeria as a nation with its mono product.
