The development of the state would be hinged on the resources from the senatorial district and the Federal Government’s connection.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, disclosed this at the palace of the Amapetu of Mahin, Lawrence Omowole and Oba Frederick Akinrutan.

Akeredolu promised to judiciously use the resources in the district to develop the entire state.

According to him, if the state must catch up with its economically viable counterparts in the southwest, Ilaje and Ese-Odo local council areas would form the economic hub.

He promised to set up a port and a refinery in the area to attract development and create jobs for the unemployed youths in the riverine area and the state at large.

“The development of Ondo State must start from the south because we are in the coastal area and own the crude, the coastal roads and the high ways. Once we have a port, adding a refinery would be easier.

“Ondo should be next to Lagos State in terms of development and creation of wealth,” he said.

Akeredolu urged the people to vote for the APC because it has the blueprint for the state’s transformation.

According to him, only a party, which is connected to the centre could attract development to the state as in the days of the late Olusegun Agagu.

He said it was during Agagu’s era, when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) controlled the centre, that the state developed at a faster pace.
