Akwa Ibom State NMA mourns deceased colleague

The Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Dr. Nsikak Paul Nyoyoko, has expressed sadness over the death of Dr. Dominic Essien, one of its members, who died from suspected symptoms of COVID-19 at the Isolation Centre in Uyo.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Dr. Nsikak Paul Nyoyoko, has expressed sadness over the death of Dr. Dominic Essien, one of its members, who died from suspected symptoms of COVID-19 at the Isolation Centre in Uyo.

Nyoyoko, in a telephone interview, revealed that result of test carried out on him was not yet out to ascertain whether his death was caused by the virus.

He advised members of the professional body to remain calm and to observe all precautionary measures against the dreaded virus. He further urged members to serve as their brother’s keepers in this trying moment of the pandemic.

Essien was the Chief Medical Director of San Dominique Hospital, Ewet Housing Estate, a physiotherapist and lecturer in the Department of Physiology, University of Uyo.
