All about Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s marriage, wife and children

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Ebhodaghe’s marriage resulted in two children and a divorce. Why did the pastor and his ex-wife part ways?

After the Nigerian pastor and author Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s marriage came to an end in 2016, there has been much speculation about what led him to divorce his now ex-wife, Anita Ebhodaghe.

The couple got married in 1991 in Lagos, Nigeria and seemed to have the perfect marriage. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Ebhodaghe served as role models to many members of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s church, Christ Embassy.
The couple had two children while being married. Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome was born on August 11th, 1993 and was followed by Charlene Oyakhilome on May 14th, 1995.

After 23 years of marriage, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome became separated from his then-wife Anita Ebhodaghe in 2014. The divorce was final in February 2016.
The split came as a shock to the world and especially to members of Christ Embassy.

It is believed that geographical distance played a role in the divorce between the two. While Pastor Chris Oyakhilome spent the vast majority of his time in Nigeria as the founder and leader of Christ Embassy, his then-wife Anita Ebhodaghe was in London, the United Kingdom most of the year.

Did Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s ex-wife, Anita Ebhodaghe, remarry?
After the divorce, rumors about Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Ebhodaghe being back together started circulating.
However, Anita Ebhodaghe exorcised the speculations with a message on her website.

“It has been brought to my attention that there are persistent rumors and misinformation about my marital status being circulated, and I would like to address certain reconciliation rumors with this statement. Further to the formal notification of the dissolution of marriage made by my solicitors earlier this year.

Please note that this has not changed, and I am no longer a part of Christ Embassy aka Believer’s LoveWorld or any such organization in any capacity. I am reiterating this to ensure that no one is misled by the false rumors or unfounded statements that show up and are spread from time to time on the internet. Any additional statement concerning me will be issued by my solicitors, who are my legal representatives, so please do not be deceived.

The fact that she added “Schafer” to her name made people on social media discuss whether she had remarried.
She has not commented on this.
Despite rumors about Pastor Chris Oyakhilome taking a new wife, he has not remarried.

Expanding the Pastor Chris Oyakhilome family
During their marriage, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Ebhodaghe had two children.

The youngest, Charlene Oyakhilome is into gospel music but prefers to stay away from the limelight, so information about her is scarce.

The eldest, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome, has become part of the music ministry of her father’s church, the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry. Under the stage name CSO, she writes and sings gospel songs.

On October 6th, 2018, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome married the Dutch/Ghanaian businessman Phillip Frimpong in a grand ceremony at the LoveWorld Arena Lekki Church in Nigeria.

The marriage was officiated by Pastor Benny Hinn, who is a friend of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
While he was present at the wedding, Anita Ebhodaghe did not show up on her daughter’s big day. On April 29th, 2021, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome and Phillip Frimpong welcomed their first child and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s first grandchild, Arielle Rachelle-Marise.

“So thrilled with boundless joy to welcome my new baby granddaughter, Arielle Rachelle-Marise. We are all full of praise to the Lord for His priceless gift and grace through Sharon & Phil, parents of the newborn. Glory to God,” the pastor wrote on his social media platform, KingsChat, after the birth.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome founded the Christ Embassy church in Nigeria in 1987. 13 million people from all over the world are believed to be members of the church.

Most of them are located in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and South Africa.

The pastor is known for his popular televised Bible teachings and healing sessions called the Healing Streams Live Healing Services. He is also the author of several books on Christian living.
One of them is his daily devotional, “Rhapsody of Realities,” which has been widely distributed worldwide.

It has been published in over 1000 languages and is designed to help individuals grow in their knowledge and understanding of God’s word as well as to apply its principles to their daily lives.

The pastor has also established multiple tv channels, a social media network, a bank and much more.
