Community leaders in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Council of Anambra State, have commended Governor Charles Soludo for delivering the long-abandoned 16.5km Nza Ozubulu-Ukpor Road.
The governor also addressed erosion challenges that had plagued the area for years.
Describing Soludo as a “Solution Governor” who keeps his promises, the leaders expressed gratitude for the swift completion of the road.
Ugochukwu Eze, one of the community leaders, highlighted how past administrations used the road as a campaign tool without taking action.
“Other governments used the road for campaigns but did nothing after elections. Governor Soludo promised to deliver it, and he has done so. We now have a governor who keeps his word,” Eze stated.
He also noted that the new road has improved security and movement in the area. “The road was previously terrible, making it a hotspot for armed robbers. Now, people can travel safely to Imo State from Anambra, and commercial drivers are using the road for various destinations. We are saying, ‘Solution Governor, well done,’” Eze added.
Soludo recently completed several other road projects, including the 2.8km Nawfia Road in Njikoka Local Government Area, which connects the Awka-Onitsha Old Road to the Awka-Onitsha Expressway. The 2.62km Bank Road in Nnewi, linking St. Mary’s Cathedral Church in Uruagu Nnewi, was also delivered.
In Nawfia, Njikoka Local Council, the President-General, Daniel Okoye, praised Soludo for completing the Afor Nawfia Bypass, describing the road as a “21st-century standard” project. “The road used to be in terrible condition, especially during the rainy season, but it is now a high-quality construction completed in less than six months,” Okoye said.
The Igwe of Nawfia, Igwe Ogochukwu Daniel Obele, lauded the governor for appointing two Nawfia indigenes to key positions—Mrs Chiamaka Nnake as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, and Double Chief Chinedu Nwoye Glamour as State Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff.
Prince Chidolue John Clarance Nwankwo, Secretary of Njikoka LGA, also praised Soludo’s free education scheme, which benefits children in Nawfia and across 176 Anambra communities.
Meanwhile, Soludo has commenced constructing a primary healthcare centre for Nawfia. Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, affirmed the governor’s commitment to infrastructure and transformation in Anambra State, positioning it as a place to live, invest, work, and relax.
