The President of Anamnet Group of Companies Limited, Chief David Edochie Onuora, has urged the people of Anambra State to support security agencies in the state to stop kidnapping and other criminal activities.

The prominent community leader said the security agencies cannot succeed without useful information from members of the community.

He noted this in Anambra State when he decamped from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), adding that security is everyone’s business to ensure the protection of lives and property.

The President accused the Federal Government of neglecting the security of the citizens, alleging that it received the least attention. He warned that no country could thrive under such insecure conditions as seen in the country today, adding that the government needs to prioritise security to make the nation proud.

He stated that his decision to join APGA was driven by his desire to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s developmental initiatives, particularly in the Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he comes from.

He noted that improved infrastructure would boost economic activities and ease transportation challenges in Anambra and Nigeria at large.

Onuora noted that a situation where elected government officials and political appointees see their positions as opportunities to loot the nation’s treasury would no longer be tolerated, adding that the country cannot grow under such conditions.

He advised Nigerian politicians to acquire skills and invest in entrepreneurship, warning that without a legitimate means of livelihood, many would struggle financially after leaving office.

The Chief attributed Nigeria’s current economic challenges to widespread criminality and a lack of patriotism among the ruling class. He called on citizens to adopt a change in attitude and work towards a more ethical and prosperous nation.

Onuora also stated that Nigeria’s education system needs serious reforms as it receives the lowest budgetary allocation annually.

He noted that ongoing discussions about the state of Nigeria’s education system require increased government investment in the sector to improve education.
