Anambra shuts schools for violating COVID-19 protocols
Anambra State Government yesterday shut down the Royal Ambassador Foundation Schools, Onitsha, for violating COVID-19 safety protocols.
The government had, last week, directed schools in the state to resume but observe the safety protocols.
Permanent Secretary in state’s Ministry of Basic Education Dr. Nwando Obiano, told newsmen in Awka, yesterday, that the schools breached the protocols.
He stated: “The school allowed their students and pupils to resume on January 18, 2021, and receiving lessons without putting on face masks.”
The ministry urged parents to withdraw their children from the school, adding that the school would remain closed, as its approval had been withdrawn.
