Anchor University ready to move to permanent site
Having taken some giant strides within the first six years of its establishment, owners of Anchor University have announced that it is time to move to its permanent site.
The Chairman, Land and Building Committee, Deeperlife Bible Church, Pastor Alfred Ogene, said the Church can no longer afford delays on repossessing the Church land at Maba town, Ogun State, which encroachers have refused to let go, despite series of court judgments in favour of the Church.
According to Ogene, who addressed the media yesterday at the Multi-purpose hall, Deeperlife Bible Church headquarters, Gbagada, Lagos, on the reclamation of the parcel of land earmarked for Anchor University permanent campus, which has taken encroached upon by trespassers, he said the Church as a responsible organisation, having patiently followed all existing legal channels to reclaim the land from enchroachers has exhausted its patience.
He said on July 15, 2016, all trespassers on the land were ordered by the Trial Judge, Honourable Justice Abiodun Akinyemi to remove forthwith from the Claimant’s land, any equipment, building materials or structures put thereon. He added that upon this judgement, the court on May 8, 2017 issued a Warrant of Possession to the Claimant and Writ of Possession was served on all structures and fence line on the enchroached portion of the land on January 9, 2018. He added that the court dismissed the suit filed by representatives of the tespassers and encroachers in its final ruling on September 7, 2018.
“I wish to state clearly that in spite of the above, the Deeperlife Bible Church is now totally ready to repossess all the encroached portions of its land of more than 40-hectare parcel of land in Maba town, earmarked for the permanent site of Anchor University as approved by Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC)” he said.
