A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Dr Sylvester Onoyona, has congratulated the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Joel Onowakpo, on his victory at the Appeal Court recently, describing it as well deserved and a hand of God in the affairs of man.
The congratulatory message from the popular politician was contained in a letter written and signed by him and a copy made available to journalists in Abuja, Monday.
He commended the former governor and leader of the party in the State, James Onenefe Ibori and the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections and former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, for their dexterity and rigor to defend the mandate freely given to Senator Onowakpo and others.
Onoyona who contested the seat for the Isoko Federal Constituency, at the last general elections, commended Senator Onowakpo for his resilience and fighting spirit to have been able to defeat his oppositions.
Commending the people of Delta South Constituency for standing firmly behind Onowakpo whom he described as astute, eminent gentleman who is hungry for the development of his people and material resources.
He gave kudos to the party leadership led by Omeni Sobotie, who he described as the father of the APC in the oil-rich state.
He described Sobotie as a thorn in the flesh of “mandate rustlers” bringing his experience to bear on all the cases against the victorious party faithful whose mandate were then under threat.
Onoyona also sent appreciation messages across board particularly to leaders of the broom party in Isokoland, noting that they stood solidly strong behind Senator Onowakpo.
He said with the former tax man in the saddle representing the Delta South, the coast is clear for quality and productive leadership in tune with the Renew Hope mantra of the current administration.
According to him, with Onowakpo in the saddle, there will be a new lease of life for the people as every constituent will be carried along.
