Provider of vocational and tech-focused education, Aptech, has announced successful training of more than 100,000 students in Information Technology (IT), multimedia and animation over the course of its 25-year presence in Nigeria.
Its Executive Vice President, Kallol Mukherjee, made the submission in Abuja at the 17th edition of its flagship educational enlightenment event — Career Quest.
The event also marked the 25th anniversary of Aptech’s operations in the country. Mukherjee highlighted the company’s mission as a ‘skilling company’ focused on employability.
“We have trained more than 100,000 students in IT, multimedia, and animation — making them employable and giving them access to world-class education with the latest content and curriculum,” he said.
The EVP added that Aptech’s distinctive academic pathway enables Nigerian students to cut up to 71 per cent of the cost of a United Kingdom (UK) degree by completing the first two years in Nigeria, and finishing the final year in the UK.
Highlighting the rising unemployment rate in the country, Mukherjee stressed the critical role of IT skills in addressing the issue.
In his remarks, the Managing Director/CEO of Aptech Nigeria, Rajeev Venugopal, reflected on the organisation’s journey and its transformative impact on the country’s education and employment landscape.
Sharing his testimony, an alumnus, Salihu Yakudima (Walid), recounted how his time at Aptech transformed his career trajectory.
