Arik Air resumes flight operations
Arik Air has announced resumption of flight operations, one week after the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) grounded three of their aircraft following a court injunction related to a $2.5 million debt owed to a private firm.
The airline, in a statement signed by the Managing Director, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, was silent on whether government had lifted ban on the three aircraft that were grounded, but said Arik Air was excited to announce that it had, yesterday, August 8, resumed flight operations.
He said: “During our brief pause, we have been dedicated to ensuring a smooth and seamless return to service, preparing to welcome you back on board with the comfort and reliability you expect from us.
“Our entire team has been working tirelessly to enhance your travel experience. From our friendly ground staff to our attentive flight crews, everyone at Arik Air is ready and eager to serve you once again.”
Captain Ilegbodu commended stakeholders, who played crucial roles in resolving the impasse, saying their support and cooperation had been instrumental in its return to the skies.
